The I Mean Live Foundation offers vital support at every stage of the creative process

Authentic Development Pipeline

IML provides dynamic support to projects and their creators through our guided development and production pipeline. With the artist’s unique vision at the forefront of a tailor-made process, we use our resources and industry know-how to position each project for maximum impact.

Projects that grow through our pipeline gain access to:

  • Professional mentorship to collaborate on a unique development and production process. Each project is one of one; thus, we work with the artist and industry professionals to develop a project plan that complements the medium, style, and intended audience of the project. This will serve as the playbook for how we will bring the project from idea to execution..

  • Creative resources to navigate development. Project development isn’t linear, we make sure our artists have the resources to explore and produce their ideas.

  • Production financing to give the artist the power to tell their story with full agency and the opportunity to find their audience.

  • Our approach emphasizes a “make something” strategy; promising that all projects will go through a production phase. Whether it be a short animated film, a pilot episode for an animated series, or a graphic novel - our artists will come away from our program with the satisfaction of executing their vision.

Enlightening Workshops

The I Mean Live Foundation offers a suite of in-person and digital workshops and courses designed to offer valuable industry insights and knowledge. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to expand your expertise, we’re here to help you navigate the complexities of the entertainment world.

For early-career creatives, the entertainment industry can feel like an overwhelming and uncertain landscape. At IML, we’re committed to changing that through expert-led guidance with our Enlightening Workshop program. These workshops are carefully crafted to address the unique challenges faced by marginalized creators in a commercial industry, offering strategies for resisting outside pressures and cultivating the resilience needed to forge your own path, even when obstacles arise.

While our workshops are beginner-friendly, they are designed to spark meaningful, critical conversations that resonate with storytellers at every stage of their creative journey. We understand how intimidating the industry can be, but we believe knowledge is power and our goal is to empower folks with the tools, confidence, and insights they need to thrive and make their mark on the world.

Empowering PSAs (Public Service Animations)

Sometimes the best way to teach is to show, not tell. That’s why The I Mean Live Foundation is producing a collection of PSAs (Public Service Animations) driven by our mission to foster empathy and understanding in the world.

Empathy is a combination of connection, compassion, and courage to take action. While each of these qualities may seem simple in isolation, nurturing this complex "empathy muscle" takes time, patience, and consistent practice. It’s a journey we’re all on together, and our Empowering PSAs are here to walk that path with you.

Meet Bloom, Rebel, Hope, and Wonder: four unique characters at the heart of the IML world, each representing qualities we aim to inspire. Just like you, these characters face challenges, encounter obstacles, and discover new truths about the world and themselves with each passing day.

Through their stories, we demonstrate that empathy is a skill that can be developed and strengthened — one small, thoughtful step at a time.
